If you watch your local news you may be familiar with this. Every now and then there’s a day when it’s blatantly obvious that nothing on note occurred. Maybe it starts off well enough with the weather or sports or whatever the one legitimate thing they actually have to report on. But, soon enough, you’re knee deep in a human interest story about Mrs. Johnson and her cat retirement home or some local kids who saw Bigfoot wrestling Santa Clause. The best part is always the interview, staring one or more persons who seem to have little to no concept of what an interview is, and one reporter asking questions in a tone best described as ‘why did I get that degree in journalism’.
